INTERVIEWS
Both of the interviews this week are about people who are just starting out with their new businesses. We will speak to them again later this year to see how the transition went...
OUT OF LAW: Rob Cartledge qualified as a corporate lawyer at Norton Rose last year. In early 2012 he is leaving to run Le Domestique Tours, a cycling and triathlon tour company that he has set up with his fiancé Laura Parker. From April 2012, Le Domestique Tours will offer trips to the Alps and the Pyrenees as well as bespoke trip planning and logistical services for individuals and groups. You can read about him here.

WITHIN LAW: Bhavini Kalaria trained in the City and worked as a litigator at Russell-Cooke LLP for five years before her three year old son was born. After finding it difficult to get back into the legal market in 2011, she has decided to set up her own firm, which went live last week. Her aim is to provide advice that enshrines “City Standards & Local Values”. You can read about her here.

WANT SOME HELP SETTING UP A BUSINESS (AND TO BE ON TV)?
True North Productions is a large independent company that makes television programmes for all of the major broadcasters.
They are currently making a brand new programme for Ch4 (it’s an 8pm primetime programme) which will take a family who are sick of their current jobs/quality of life and are wanting to pack it all in and set up their own business. The idea is that the presenter and team of experts will evaluate their current life – their assets, their skills, their future dreams - and come up with three different feasible business/life plans to get them started on the path to the future they wish to have. Not only will they be presented with these plans, they will also get the opportunity to really experience what making these life changes would be like.
They are ideally looking for families who would be ready to make these changes in the next few months and wouldn't be adverse to relocating if it became part of the bigger plan. It's a perfect opportunity for people who dream of this but until now just haven't had the headspace or opportunity to go for it!
At the moment they are trying to find the right family for this.
If you are interested in featuring on the programme then please contact hsoothill@truenorth.tv or call 0113 394 5497.
