We’re expanding and looking for an additional lawyer to join the team on a part time basis, 3 days a week.
This is a great opportunity to combine varied, top quality work, with quality clients, within a supportive working environment, in a quality location.
We work in a unique way, always on-hand, sometimes at the clients’ offices, advising them as and when they need it. We are based in Richmond’s principal business centre.
The role The role is one of a front line, in-house lawyer. You will be the clients’ in-house counsel and their first point of contact. From our offices in Richmond, you will be negotiating contracts, advising on employment law and strategic issues such as fundraising and business sales. Expect variety and lots of direct client contact. Your day could include negotiating a sales contract with a Global PLC in the morning, then settling an employee dispute for the same client in the afternoon.
The candidate Most importantly, you will need to be a practical, commercially astute lawyer. You will need to have good business judgment and previous in-house experience, or be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of how to apply the law in business.
To enjoy and thrive in the role, you will also need:
- the confidence to advise senior management teams, from sales managers to board directors - excellent communication skills - to be well organised and task focused, with a can do attitude - up to date IT skills: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a good working knowledge of PLC. - a keen interest in the business world - a real desire to be part of a small team and to shape a growing law company
You will also need to be a good team player who enjoys working closely with clients, in a hard working, supportive team environment.

You will have all the variety of a typical in-house role, keeping your skills sharp across commercial agreements, employment issues, raising finance and business sales. You will understand your clients’ cash flows and develop your business skills and knowledge.
Less typically, you will also have the opportunity to expand your legal expertise across a variety of industry sectors. You will enjoy all the support and City based CPD training that comes with being part of a team of lawyers. Our Richmond base allows you to focus your energies on your work and not the commute to it.
